Banyards puts on first class display for arts graduates |
2nd Jul 2007 |
Leading
horticultural company Banyards has put on a first-class flower display
to honour graduates at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth.
The Horton Heath-based company created 20 colourful containers of exotic plants, fresh flowers and foliage, including orchids; anthuriums; guzmanias; dracaenas and miniature palms, for the 29 June graduation ceremony in Wimborne Minster.
Staff also provided specimen plants, fresh flowers and posies for the champagne and strawberries reception at the Institute afterwards.
Banyards' Interior Plantscapes division staff moved the stunning arrangements into the Minster on the day before the ceremony and out again after the service ended.
Plantscapes' supervisor Hayley Baugh said: "The plants were striking and eye-catching. The Minster can be quite dark inside, so we provided as much colour as possible."
Banyards has had a long association with the Arts Institute. It won its first contract with them in 1992 and still today handles regular landscape building and development work, plus on-going grounds maintenance.
It helps out the students whenever possible, including paying for a promotional video planned and produced by students and providing plant advice for those on the design course.
The Arts Institute at Bournemouth was established in 1885 and is now one of Europe's leading specialist education institutions. It is one of the few Higher Education University sector organisations to focus exclusively on contemporary arts, design and media.
